Volunteer for The Friendlier City Project

The Friendlier City Project as a non-profit organization is entirely supported by the work of volunteers. This includes the work put in by the board of directors. As such we are always looking for new people who share the same goal as us: making Wheeling a friendlier city.

What Our Volunteers Do

Our volunteers are hard working and dedicated individuals who help us put on large scale events such as Pride on the Plaza! As a volunteer you may be asked: to help set up or tear down events, aid with ticket and merch tables, go to non-FCP events to table, and the most trusted volunteers may be asked to join one of our subcommittees as a non-voting member.

As a volunteer you’ll also be climbing The Friendlier City Project Rainbow of Engagement. Which is a tiered chart all volunteers are organized into based on how much work they put into the organization along with the attitude they bring towards their volunteer work.
